Every other year, the City of Woodland offers water testing resources to our residents with private wells. As in past years, this service will be provided by Engel Water Testing.
If you are interested, the cost is $65 per test, or $300 for five tests:
- Arsenic
- Coliform & E.Coli Bacteria
- Lead
- Manganese
- Nitrates
The process is:
- Pick up sterile testing vials at City Hall the week of August 19-23. Complete instructions will be included.
- Take water samples the morning of August 27 and deliver immediately to City Hall, before noon.
Samples must be taken within 24 hours of testing, so make sure the 27th works for you. - Pay the testing fee at time of dropoff, checks payable to Engel Water Testing.
- The samples will be picked up by Engel at noon on August 27 and results will be sent directly to you.

Engel Water Testing is one of six accredited labs in Hennipen County. This service is offered through the City of Woodland for your convenience, but you may opt to use another lab at your discretion.
