The Minnesota Data Practices Act (MGDPA) gives you, and all members of the public, the right to see all public data that the government entities keep unless there is a state or federal statute that classifies the data as not public.  In addition, it gives you, and all members of the public, the right to have a copy of any public data for any reason provided the data is not classified as not public or copyrighted.

The City of Woodland periodically receives requests for the names and addresses of residents.  Under State law, this information is regarded as public information and the City is required to provide the information to anyone who asks for it.  Unfortunately, the City cannot refuse to release this information even if you request confidentiality.  Please be aware that you may be contacted by organizations which have obtained this information from the City.
