Weather in Woodland

High Water Update

The National Weather Service is forecasting 3-4″ of rain across the Minnehaha Creek watershed, Monday evening into Friday. Approximately 1″ of rain is expected today (9/9), and heavy rainfall amounts of 2-3″ later this week.

September’s average is about 3″ of rain, so we may receive a typical September’s amount of rain in the just next five days. With 2019 already being a record wet year, causing water levels to be elevated, MCWD is advising communities across the watershed to prepare for the likelihood of localized flooding.
